Los Orcones Ranch | South Texas Hunting Ranch

The Los Orcones Ranch has undergone a wildlife management transformation since its beginnings as a true cattle ranch in the late 19th Century. It was in 1881 when my grandfather, Senator Archie Parr, began to purchase the land and acres as a cattle ranch from the successors, family members and heirs of the original land grantee, Andres Garcia.

It was then named the Los Orcones Ranch.

The ranch has been in the Parr family for over 100 years, and has been a cattle ranch during that entire period. The ranch originally consisted of approximately 17,000 acres, and currently is comprised of 6,700 acres of prime whitetail hunting in the Heart of true South Texas. While the ranch will always be a working cattle ranch, it has now become one of the finest South Texas deer hunting ranches in the state. Catering to clients from across the country, the Ranch is fastly becoming a tradition for many of our customers.

The natural vegetation and flora of the ranch, in conjunction with year-round protein feeding program, and access to water are the primary keys to growing and achieving a quality trophy whitetail deer herd. The entire 6,700 acre ranch is dedicated to trophy management of whitetail deer, and quality property management and nutrition programs for both our whitetail and cattle populations. There is no overgrazing of any pasture by cattle.

My sole goal is to continue improving on the Ranch’s cattle and whitetail deer herds, achieving client satisfaction, and building on the outstanding reputation as one of the top hunting ranches in South Texas.
